Arne Slot Asserts He Is Secure and Retains The Club's Backing Following PSV Defeat
Arne Slot admitted that it was expected for questions to be asked about his future following another heavy loss versus PSV Eindhoven.
Liverpool suffered their ninth loss in twelve games, representing the club's worst run since being relegated in 1953-54.
They were dominated by the Eredivisie champions on a tough evening at their home ground.
“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I've received a lot of backing from management,” the coach remarked.
“It would be great to turn it around and get a victory naturally but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it is normal that people question you.”
He added, “I accept my position. It is not the first time I've found myself in a tough spot but it is about time that we changed our fortunes.”

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his discussions with the club's leadership, Slot said:
“We communicate frequently. They are helpful to the team and for me and we discuss these matters but they aren't calling me constantly each day to say they back me.”
He mentioned, “Through standard exchanges I feel the confidence. However I've not talked to them since this match so far so let’s see.”
Recurring Failings and Player Reaction
Slot highlighted recurring weaknesses from his team in their European loss, specifically missed opportunities and defensive lapses.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his assessment of the team's situation.
“I don’t have the answers. Truthfully, I don’t. I'm telling that to all,” the midfielder stated.
“It's simply unacceptable. I don't have to wait to reflect. I'm beyond feeling anger internally. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the vocabulary.”
He added, “It's difficult because I’m playing for the team I support. I’m a fan, and I've watched this club for years.”
“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Reds side experiencing a phase like this with outcomes like these.”
He stated, “But we still have the emblem on our chest. And until that badge is removed, we’re always going to battle.”
“We will attempt to bring this squad return to the top, demonstrate to all once more what Liverpool stands for and why people call it the best team in the world.”
“But right now, things are bad and it must improve.”
