Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients

Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
