"Observe such accomplishment. Observe this mass destruction," a combatant exclaims.

The men are exulting in a mass killing that humanitarian officials believe resulted in the deaths of over 2,000 civilians in the Sudanese metropolis of al-Fashir last month.

An Urban Center Severed from the Outside

After maintaining the urban area under encirclement for approximately 24 months, from August the RSF proceeded to reinforce its dominance and prevent access for the remaining residents.
